Smashing Success: Enríquez Wallops 3 HR Wednesday, February 20th , 2058 José Enríquez went on an explosive hitting spree against the John Deere Mean Green at Ballpark of Austin HS today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the STX Soul to the 12-11 win. The right fielder finished 4-for-5 with 4 runs scored and 6 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Enríquez said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." John Deere skipper César Ramos said Enríquez was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." José Enríquez hit a solo-shot off Raúl Hernández in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Felipe Martínez in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Javier Ruíz in the 4th, doubled in the 7th, walked in the 9th, grounded out in the 10th and walked in the 12th. Currently Enríquez has 6 home runs and a .298 batting average. |
