Doughboys End Wilkins's Streak Friday, February 15th , 2058 Bob Wilkins, third baseman for the Texaco Stars, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Pillsbury Doughboys today. Not only did the Doughboys break his 21-game hitting streak, they also beat Texaco by the score of 4-0. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Wilkins said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." This year Wilkins is batting .317 with 4 home runs. He has scored 37 runs and driven in 29. |
