Saturday, April 14th , 2057
The manager of the Shell Oil Royals said he thinks Héctor Porrett is only going to get better as he gets older.
He may only be 16, but it will be hard to top the right fielder's 2057 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Bill Gates League Alberto Guzman Batter Award.
His winning campaign featured a .373 batting average and a .478 on-base percentage this year. In 39 games he piled up 57 hits, 10 doubles, no triples, 12 home runs, 30 RBIs and 40 runs scored.
He received 47 first place votes out of a possible 48. Ricardo Capeles of the Bumblebee Tuna finished second in voting, while Tony Cochran of the Pfizer Blues finished third with 1 first place vote.
