Vallejo Stretches Hit String to 20 Monday, February 18th , 2058 The hitting streak for U.S. Navy right fielder José Vallejo now stands at 20 games, but the Midshipmen dropped today's contest 7-2 to the Coca-Cola Splash. Vallejo went 2-for-4 in the game. "Things went well for me personally today," he said later. "I got 2 hits and the streak keeps going. But we didn't win the game." José Vallejo hit an RBI single in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This season Vallejo is swinging the bat at a .371 rate with 62 hits in 167 at-bats. To date he has hit 3 home runs, scored 39 runs and driven in 22. |
