Trujillo Batters U.S. Marine Corps for 5 Hits
Wednesday, January 24th , 2057
AmGen Chemists left fielder Jorge Trujillo had a day to remember at Henry Ford Field today, ripping apart the U.S. Marine Corps Fighting Leathernecks and sparking the Chemists to a 17-9 victory.
Trujillo wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Trujillo told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Jorge Trujillo singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Carlos Burgos in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Misao Matsuo in the 6th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
To date Trujillo has chalked up a .406 average with 8 home runs, driven in 26 runs and scored 23 times.
