Roney Whacks 3 out of the Park for Staples Tuesday, February 1st , 2056 Dave Roney went yard three times in a Staples Staples victory over the Schlitz Tallboys at White Knights Ballpark today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Staples catcher went 3-for-4 against Schlitz with 8 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Staples to the 12-2 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Dave Roney hit a solo-shot off Devin Wheeler in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Devin Wheeler in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Steve Truss in the 8th. For the season Roney is batting .261 with 12 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 4 times and batted in 18. |
