Black Sox Prevail, as Governors Cup Goes to the Wire Sunday, March 9th , 2053 Members of the Auckland Black Sox couldn't hold back their emotions after beating the Bangkok Pearls in the final game of the Governors Cup. "It's just been such a roller coaster," said Black Sox starting pitcher Ernesto Aguilar after the club's 4-2 win. "You play all season and then everything comes down to this one game. We know how easily we could have been on the other side of it." The other side was a subdued Pearls clubhouse, where players packed up their belongings and headed home for the year, with a somber mood in the air. For the series, Aguilar was named MVP, as he had a 0.00 ERA over 5 innings pitched. He added 5 strikeouts and picked up 1 win. The Auckland Black Sox will play against the Schlitz Tallboys in the next round. Schlitz won their series against the Chevrolet Chevys 2 games to 0.
