Fernández Hits 3 Homers Friday, January 24th , 2053 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Hurricanes-Ducks game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Havana right fielder Norberto Fernández thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Havana to a 7-1 win over Aflac. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Fernández said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Fernández was 3-for-4 on the day with 4 RBI. Norberto Fernández flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off José Román in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jeffrey Thomas in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Juan Valenzuela in the 8th. For the season Fernández has produced 8 hits in 42 at-bats for a .190 average with 4 home runs and gotten on base at a .300 clip. |
