Blankenship Raps 3 HR Against Victors Monday, February 14th , 2050 Every now and then, everything just comes together. Corey Blankenship discovered that today at Hobart Field, as he smashed three home runs during the 11-4 Amoco Torch win over the RCA Victors. "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the Amoco first baseman said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it." Blankenship finished the day with 4 hits in 5 at-bats and 5 RBIs. Corey Blankenship hit a solo-shot off Michael James in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, walked in a run in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Michael Bakke in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Richard Russell in the 9th. In this current campaign Blankenship is hitting at a .173 clip with 9 home runs and 24 RBIs. |
