Medrano Slams 5 Hits for Cheyenne
Tuesday, June 21st , 2061
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for José Medrano -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Prophets Ballpark, but the performance lost a little luster when the Bulls were downed, 5-3, by the Berkeley Golden Bears.
After his glittering performance, the Cheyenne first baseman told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat."
His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book.
"I just wish we had added a win in the record book, too," Medrano said.
José Medrano doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and tripled in the 9th.
To date Medrano has chalked up a .493 average with 2 home runs, driven in 9 runs and scored 23 times.
