Road Runners Move on to Round 2 Thursday, August 22nd , 2058 The sweet swing of Pepe Gonzáles has led his team through the Round 1. The Alamogordo Road Runners star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Roswell Aliens to advance to the Round 2. The Road Runners won the final game at The Kingdom of Nye by a score of 3-1 and the series 4-1. "I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Gonzáles. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs." For the series, Gonzáles hit .350 with a .381 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Alamogordo Road Runners will play against the Chestermere Lunkers in the next round. Chestermere won their series against the Monclova Aqua Sox 4 games to 0.
