Masamune Shirai Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year Thursday, August 8th , 2058 The season is apparently over for Masamune Shirai. The Berkeley Golden Bears medical staff informed the club that the reliever will be out at least 8 months with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. Shirai was hurt in the game against Castroville while throwing a pitch. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season. For the year Shirai has saved 0 games while posting an ERA of 3.21 and 47 strikeouts in 53.1 innings. His totals also include a 5-3 record in 2 relief appearances. |
