Postseason Bid Ends for Assateague Thursday, August 8th , 2058 It's the better-luck-next-time point of the season for the Assateague Ponies. The club was officially eliminated from playoff contention today, and will turn their attention to next year's campaign. "You know, the average player doesn't get that many seasons, so every time you're eliminated, it hurts," said Ponies starting pitcher Sung-min P'ung. Assateague last appeared in the postseason in 2052. This is their 6th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 25 times in their 30-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Ponies have only made the playoffs once. |
