Héctor García Chosen HL's Best Player
Monday, October 1st , 2057
He may have less experience than most of his Spike Nolan League peers, but that didn't slow Héctor García down at all in 2057.
At the age of 20, the Cayucos center fielder has been named the winner of the Horizon League Frank Moore Batter Award.
He had a .308 batting average and a .387 on-base percentage this year. In 68 games he piled up 74 hits, 17 doubles, 4 triples, 14 home runs, 51 RBIs and 42 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 32 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jim Kerr of the Anchorage Polar Bears finished second in voting, while Tony Bunce of the Alamogordo Road Runners finished third.
