Round 1 Goes the Distance, Chestermere Prevails Monday, August 27th , 2057 Chestermere Lunkers won a nail-biting series against the Cayucos Surf 4-3, wrapping up the Round 1 finale 3-2 at Ballpark of Airdrie. Lunkers center fielder Justin Vaive was named the series MVP. He batted .355, drove in 6 runs and scored 3 to lead Chestermere into the next round of play. "Justin was real solid for us, real solid," said Lunkers manager Bilbo Baggins. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time." The Chestermere Lunkers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Waco Thunder - Elkins Buzzards series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece.
