Golden Bears Come up Short of Playoffs Thursday, August 16th , 2057 It "never gets easier" to have a playoff push come to an end, according to starting pitcher Ichizo Taguchi of the Berkeley Golden Bears. The Berkeley player said his club was banking on being able to push themselves into the postseason, but they are now mathematically eliminated. Before this season, the Golden Bears last missed the playoffs in 2055. In the 61 years they have been a Spike Nolan League franchise, they have missed the playoffs 51 times.
