Rockets Jesse Sanders Down and Out for Year
Saturday, July 14th , 2057
Russelville shortstop Jesse Sanders could miss the remainder of the season because of a ruptured medial collateral ligament. He exited yesterday's Saylorville game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Sanders would be out 6-7 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

Sanders is hitting .261 so far this season with 13 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 35 hits including 1 home run, 8 walks and .308 OBP.
