Duran Belts 3 HR Against Lexington Friday, July 13th , 2057 Bartlett Jazz shortstop Raúl Duran put on a dazzling display of power today at Sycamores Field against the Lexington Sycamores. In the 18-3 Jazz victory Duran penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Lexington manager Sðdðk Deringil said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 19-year-old had 3 hits in 6 at-bats, 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Duran said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Raúl Duran grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jamil bin Sabir in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Steve Bronson in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Aniq Wasim in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. This year Duran is batting .360 with 8 home runs. He has scored 26 runs and driven in 23. |
