 | Friedek PL Winner, Top Hurler in July Tuesday, August 1st, 2045 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Adolph Friedek, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Grand Junction Gold Sox reliever, 20, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .118 average and walked away with the Provost League Pitcher of the Month award for July. Friedek posted a 1-1 mark and a 1.76 ERA in 15 relief appearances. In 15.1 innings, he had 13 saves, 25 strikeouts, and 8 walks. Friedek has compiled an ERA of 1.86 so far this season, winning 3 games with 3 losses and 19 saves. In 27 relief appearances he has hurled 29 innings, yielded 16 hits and struck out 43.
