 | Super Swinger -- Payne Slams 5 Hits Wednesday, May 31st, 2045 Who needs batting practice? Apparently not Aspen Surge shortstop Bill Payne, who missed the team's pre-game session at The O.K. Corral but peppered the Tombstone Geckos for 5 hits come game time. The Surge went on to take the 12-1 win. "I was late to the park and I wasn't sure coach was even going to keep me in the lineup," he told the press after the game. "Maybe I should skip BP more often." Bill Payne hit a two-run double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
