Omar Robles Nabs Best Player Trophy Wednesday, October 2nd , 2058
The manager of the Frederick Travelers said he thinks Omar Robles is only going to get better as he gets older.
He may only be 21, but it will be hard to top the left fielder's 2058 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Donaldo League Jorge Olivas Batter Award.
His winning campaign featured a .346 batting average and a .425 on-base percentage this year. In 97 games he piled up 121 hits, 32 doubles, no triples, 20 home runs, 80 RBIs and 68 runs scored.
He received 23 first place votes out of a possible 32. José Farías of the Duluth Dragons finished second in voting with 8 first place votes, while Joe Winters of the Trenton Generals finished third with 1 first place vote.
