Jamestown Stymied by Gómez Friday, August 23rd , 2058 Jorge Gómez subdued the Jamestown Comets, 4-0, pitching a 3-hit gem for the Medicine Hat Flaming Nukes at Fillmore Fields. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Medicine Hat skipper Wilford Coffey said afterward. Gómez registered 9 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in his superb performance. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Jamestown manager Alan Willis after the defeat.
