Murugesan Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Sunday, August 11th , 2058 The Trois-Rivieres Salmon Kings may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 8-5 to the Saskatchewan Monarchs, but Subhadra Murugesan continued to hit like a god. The shortstop collected 1 hit in 2 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Murugesan is playing great and is on fire right now," Salmon Kings manager Cris Vázquez said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Murugesan was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Subhadra Murugesan singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd and walked in the 5th. Presently Murugesan is batting .291 and has collected no home runs, 25 RBIs, .338 OBP and scored 34 runs. |
