Drake League Names #1 Pitcher in July Thursday, August 1st , 2058 High pressure game situations don't seem to affect Tokichiro Chikafuji, the bullpen ace of the Beaumont Drillers. He regularly is put to the test and he regularly makes quick work of the opposition. In July, he was honored for his outstanding relief work. The Drake League presented the Pitcher of the Month trophy to him. The Drillers reliever had 11 saves, pitched 14.1 innings, struck out 21 and walked 3 en route to a 2-0 mark and a 1.26 ERA. To date in 41 relief appearances, Chikafuji has recorded 23 saves while posting an ERA of 2.72 and 49 strikeouts in 43 innings pitched. His totals for the year also include 2 wins and 4 losses. |
