Trenton Shuts Out Spirits, Whitford Winner Monday, July 22nd , 2058 The Peoria Spirits struggled at the plate today against Generals hurler Brian Whitford, who shackled them on 3 hits while hurling a complete game 8-0 shutout. "What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Spirits skipper Jacob Harris in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow." Whitford finished the game with 13 strikeouts and no walks in an excellent mound performance. "He pitched real well," Trenton manager Javaid Bhutani said. "Brian made pitches when he had to.
