Hit Streak Over, Fire Stop Aguilar Friday, June 14th , 2058 Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 25-game hitting streak, Saskatchewan catcher José Aguilar went hitless in 2 at-bats today at The Firehouse at Waterfront Park. The sudden hitting drought came as the Monarchs took the 5-4 win over the Louisville Fire. "Nope, it's not magic," Aguilar said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits." For the year Aguilar is batting .328 with 7 home runs. |
