Doves Liyongo Raps 3 Homers Wednesday, September 4th , 2058 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Tucson Inferno today. San Francisco first baseman Frank Liyongo tripled up on the home runs to propel the Doves to the 6-5 win at The Wharf. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Tucson manager Sariyah Latif said. "Liyongo hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Liyongo collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats, 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Frank Liyongo hit a two-run home run off Ilhan Suker in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ilhan Suker in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Josh Foreman in the 10th. This year Liyongo is batting .287 with 32 home runs. He has scored 71 runs and driven in 77. |
