Proudest Monkeys Lose Davis for Season Thursday, August 1st , 2058
The doctors have spoken and Mike Davis of the South Bend Proudest Monkeys didn't like what he heard. The 25-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Davis sustained his season-ending injury during the Lincoln Loggers game yesterday at The Big Log. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the South Bend medical staff reported Davis had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 10 months.
This season Davis has a 0-5 mark in 16 starts with a 6.29 ERA. He has given up 60 hits in 58.2 innings, struck out 58 and issued 40 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .275 batting average against him.
