Year Over for Kernels Saxton Monday, March 1st , 2055
The doctors have spoken and Lawrence Saxton of the Des Moines Kernels didn't like what he heard. The 26-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Saxton sustained his season-ending injury during the Madison Wolves game yesterday at Spring Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Des Moines medical staff reported Saxton had a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 14 months.
