Haney Launches Number 500 Friday, July 5th , 2052 It was a great day for Aaron Haney, but not a good one for his Charlotte Cougars. The 33-year-old right fielder reached a personal milestone with his 500th career homer, but it wasn't enough to beat the New Orleans Crawdads, who came away with a 6-5 victory. Haney finished the day with 2 hits, 1 RBI and 1 run scored. "Well, I've conceded the fact that you can't will yourself to hit a home run," he said. "I tried hard for the last few days. It was getting to be embarrassing with the crowd standing up every time I came to the plate." Haney is hitting the ball at a .297 clip over his career.
