Nine Cruise to Doubleday Series with Sweep Friday, October 6th , 2051 It was a sweet sweep for the Yellow Springs Nine as they eased past the Valencia Stars to advance to the Doubleday Series. Yellow Springs won the final game by a 6-3 count and the series 3-0. "We're just fortunate to get through it quickly and be able to rest up for the next series," said Tomás Borges, who was named series MVP. For the series, Borges hit .571 with a .533 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Yellow Springs Nine will play against the Sacramento Mad Popes in the next round. Sacramento had a bye in the Geoghegan Round. The Doubleday Series is scheduled to begin on October 10th , 2051.
