Guillén Goes Cycling
Sunday, June 14th , 2048
At Trump Park today, Tomás Guillén led Charm City to a 7-3 victory over the Atlantic City Gamblers by hitting for the cycle, one of baseball's more difficult feats.
"Usually the triple is the hardest one to get, but I was most worried about the homer today because the ball wasn't carrying," Guillén said later. "When I took it deep, I was expecting the ball to die on the warning track, so it was sweet seeing the ump give me the signal to circle the bases."
In addition to going 4-for-5, Guillén chalked up 2 RBI and scored 3 runs in an exceptional performance.
Tomás Guillén doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Cheuk-yan Liu in the 5th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
This season Guillén is swinging the bat at a .363 rate with 89 hits in 245 at-bats. To date he has hit 16 home runs, scored 57 runs and driven in 33.
