5-Hit Barrage by Saito Tuesday, June 9th , 2048 It seemed that Sacramento catcher Kazuki Saito could do no wrong as the Mad Popes KO'd the Surfers, 9-7 today. Saito rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Surfers hurlers were throwing. "I think the Mad Popes were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Long Beach fan after the game. "I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Saito in the postgame press interview. Kazuki Saito singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
