Yellow Springs Clinches Playoff Spot Despite Loss Sunday, September 15th , 2047 The Yellow Springs may have lost the battle at the ballpark today, but they won a big part of the war: they clinched a spot in the playoffs. "It's certainly not how you picture it when you're a kid," said manager Alberto Sánchez today after his Yellow Springs Nine clinched, despite his squad's loss to the Las Vegas. "It was a little weird at first, kind of celebrating, kind of ... I don't know ..." Sánchez trailed off musing the situation while in the clubhouse after the game. "But despite what happened today, we are a winning team and we earned this. It's not about what happened today, it's about how well this team has played all season long. The guys have fought hard all year long, and they really deserve the spot in the postseason. So yeah, we're definitely celebrating tonight." If the fans felt any qualms about the circumstances, they sure didn't show it. Yellow Springs Nine faithful by the thousands hung around outside the stadium long after the game, cheering and celebrating into the night. |
