Thum Ups Hit Streak to 33 Consecutive Games
Thursday, August 22nd , 2047
Dong-po Thum continued his streak at Shotz Stadium today, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Yellow Springs second baseman was 2-for-4 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 33 games. The Nine were not as fortunate, losing 6-5 to the Madison Wolves.
"Thum was hitting everything we threw at him," said Madison manager Will Myers. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame today and we came away with a win." Dong-po Thum singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th and flied out in the 7th.
Looking at his present stats, Thum has compiled a .370 batting average in 117 games with a .431 on-base percentage, while hitting 10 home runs and driving in 41 runs.
