Robins End Zhào's Streak
Sunday, August 18th , 2047
It was a doubly miserable day today for Bing-de Zhào of the Rockville Pikemen, as he saw his 26-game hitting streak end and his team lose 9-3 to the Brooklyn Robins at McDermott Park at Ebbets Field. The 27-year-old first baseman was held hitless in 1 at-bat by the Robins.
"Anyone on a 26-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Brooklyn manager Tomás Valdéz said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."
This season Zhào has hit at a .345 clip and produced 81 RBI, 22 home runs and 74 runs.
