 | Fardos and Browning Fight, Get Suspended Sunday, August 19th, 2046 Yesterday at Hawai'i Le'ahi Diamond Head Baseball Park Bastião Fardos and Peyton Browning got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Hawaii Tropics and Long Beach Surfers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Fardos will have to sit out 5 while Browning would be given a 11-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. So far this season Fardos is batting .288 with 8 home runs, 36 RBIs and 47 runs scored. He has 80 hits in 278 at-bats, 28 walks and a .357 OBP. Fardos has played in 85 games. Thus far this season Browning has posted a 1-2 record, started 7 games, struck out 16 batters in 39.1 innings and compiled a 6.86 ERA. |   |
