 | Smith Sizzles with 25-Game Batting Streak Friday, July 27th, 2046 Jeffrey Smith ran his hitting streak to 25 straight games today at Hawai'i Le'ahi Diamond Head Baseball Park, when he collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Vancouver Mounties dropped the game, 9-4, to the Hawaii Tropics. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Smith said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Jeffrey Smith hit an RBI single in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Ernie Poole in the 9th. For the season, Smith is hitting at a .342 clip with 29 home runs, 84 RBIs and has scored 69 runs. He has 138 hits, 30 walks and a .397 on-base percentage. |   |
