 | Boise Trades Ruíz for Charlotte's Torres Saturday, July 14th, 2046 It took some time to iron out the details, but the Spuds and Cougars have agreed to a swap. Charlotte will get 27-year-old LF Ricardo Ruíz with Boise receiving 25-year-old 1B César Torres, 20-year-old minor league LHP Eduardo Ramírez and 17-year-old minor league CF Murad Abdul-Alim in return. A source close to the trade talks said the two clubs were initially looking to make a bigger deal, but discussions broke off late last night. The two sides reconvened early today and eventually settled on this deal. This season Ruíz is swinging the bat at a .340 rate with 103 hits in 303 at-bats. To date he has hit 13 home runs, scored 58 runs and driven in 73. Currently Torres is batting .249 with 56 hits and 7 home runs. He has knocked in 33 runs and scored 21 times. |   |
