At King County Complex today, Maguire showed how well he learned that lesson. The 39-year-old second baseman had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Long Beach Surfers, helping his team knock off the Seattle Storm by a score of 15-4. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Sean Maguire singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
