It wasn't easy but the Annapolis Sailors made it look that way.

Starter Bryan Hughes shut out the Wilmington Fighting Swedes despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Annapolis Sailors cruised to victory, 2-0. Hughes allowed only 5 hits and rang up 9 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

Over the season Hughes has thrown 62.2 innings and dished out 46 strikeouts with a 2-4 mark and a 6.18 ERA.
