New Orleans picked up a win at The Commanders Palace, toppling the Montreal Blazers, 3-2. Pitcher John Lucas was one of the reasons the Crawdads triumphed. Lucas got the win, improving to 9-6. He allowed 6 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. Lucas allowed 1 run. The third-place Crawdads improved to 72-55.

Juan Donéstevez, who led the JL in stolen bases with 69 in 2049, helped out the New Orleans cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the right fielder went 2 for 3 with a double.
