Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Mounties
The Vancouver Mounties got a magnificent performance from pitcher Steve Warren, who muffled the San Fernando offense en route to a tight 2-0 Mounties win at Chico's Bail Bonds Field. Xuan Ngo, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 29th save. Vancouver, now 63-61, holds down third place in the Frick League Pacific Division.

Vancouver used the clutch hitting of Davenport Hinkle to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mounties ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Warren said.
