Talons Roll to 8-2 Win Over Gamblers
The Phoenix Talons took Atlantic City pitcher Eddie Armstrong's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Ballpark at Bally's. The final score had Phoenix getting past the Gamblers, 8-2. Armstrong went 5 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 5. Phoenix reliever Josh Dougherty picked up the win, raising his record to 3-1. Nick Clark was tagged with the loss. The Talons, at 32-25, lead by one game in their division.

Phoenix used the timely hitting of Niaz Minhas to capture the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Talons on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but he made it count.

"I thought we played a nice game," Minhas told the Phoenix Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
