Hustlers Come Up Short at Montreal, 5-4
|
The Montreal Blazers beat the Las Vegas Hustlers, 5-4, at Ubisoft Field. Eduardo González, in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Juan Cruz got the win, improving to 4-2. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 9 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Tom Miller sewed up the save, his 13th.
Calvin Johnson, who finished 5th in the JL in doubles with 44 in 2056, helped out the Montreal cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the catcher was 1-4 with a double.
"We ground out the win," said González. "That's all that matters."
With the win, Montreal pushed its record to 33-20.
