Elmer Hits 2 home runs in Kernels Win
The Des Moines Kernels beat the Vancouver Mounties by a score of 11-3. Des Moines catcher Andy Elmer deserved the lion's share of the credit. Elmer went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Kernels. The Kernels, at 24-28, sit in 5th place in the Frick League Heartland Division.

The Kernels got a big hit from first baseman Ricardo Norman. In the bottom of the eighth, Norman pounded a 3-run home run to left-center. His 5th home run of the season put the Kernels ahead, 11-1.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Elmer said after the game.
