Lynchburg Whiskeyjacks center fielder Mundhir Tayyib had a day to remember at The Igloo today, ripping apart the Anchorage Polar Bears and sparking the Whiskeyjacks to a 10-1 victory.

Tayyib wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6.

"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Tayyib told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."

Mundhir Tayyib hit a solo-shot off Martín Cruz in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
