The Valencia Stars got a good effort from starter Greg Jackson in defeating the Hawaii Tropics at ‘Iolani Palace. The final score was 4-1. Martin Román was called on to finish, recording his 8th save. With the victory, the Stars upped their record to 17-16.

Habib bin Ameen, who is a two-time Yogi Zimmer Diamond Glove Award winner, aided the Valencia cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Valencia manager Markus O'Byrne.
