Suzuki Excels in 10-8 Sacramento Win
The Sacramento Mad Popes trumped the Hawaii Tropics, 10-8, at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough. Sacramento designated hitter Yuu Suzuki was terrific. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 5. The winner was Joe King, who threw 89 pitches over 5.2 innings. The left-hander was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits. The Mad Popes raised their record to 14-13.

Okyay Nisancî dealt the Tropics a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with the bases loaded and Sacramento leading 1-0, Nisancî, who finished 4th in the FL in on-base percentage with .382 last year, hit a 1-1 slider for a run-scoring single.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Suzuki said.
