Monarchs Lema Fans 16 Gamblers
|
Juan Lema of the Saskatchewan Monarchs put on a pitching clinic today at Mounties Field as he struck out 16 Carson City Gamblers in a 5-0 victory. Lema was simply magnificent as he held the Gamblers to 1 hit. He walked 5.
"I felt okay at the beginning," Lema said, "but eventually my forkball really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game."
When asked about Lema's performance, Monarchs manager Juan Rodríguez shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating."
This year Lema has a 1-0 record with a 2.60 ERA in 1 starts.
